After much thought and
consideration, I’ve come to the conclusion that this will be the last post on
this page for an indefinite period of time.
It’s been a year now, and looking back thru the archives we've had some
really memorable moments. The N&N
will be left up til we transition to the new page, however, I’m not sure what
format we’ll use to record tourney wins.
Hehe—whatever we have will be somewhat sterile and watered down
compared to what we're used to, but in no way, shape or form will that detract
from who we are and what we stand for. I
very much appreciate the responses and interest you girls & guys expressed
in wanting this portion of our page to stay.
In fact it's all of you who really made the N&N
what it was...what it is - the wacky things that were said and done on this
team, the way we joke with one another, and the kind of fun we have.
I merely recorded it, compiled it, and slapped it on the page with maybe
a subtle little twist here and there. It’s
been great fun though, and with that said, how bout we take this baby out with a
bang, huh? Yeah, let’s do that!! In the ‘70s a show entitled “The Wide World of Sports” was known for this line: "The thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat”. Well one of our own covered the full spectrum of that quote (and then some), and being the kind of guy I am…I’ll start with the thrill of victory for the SLOster who's just chocked up his very first tourney win. Congrats to....
» This guy is really making a name for himself here on SLO. I envision in the near future the majority of our fans will be going, "Jumper? SCAT? NANOO? We don't care about those losers; long live BRO!!!" People will line up in the streets just to touch him, girls will mob him in restaurants, movie theatres, and at Happy Acres when he goes to visit N8 and ****SS**** to take them strained vegetables and crayons. » That's right folks, this guy hooked up with The nOctrn4l One in a 2 vs 2 duel to the death on the cube. Ok not really, but it sounds macho, don't it? Ever so SLOly Bro has been refining his skills, doing all kinds of calisthenics, eating right, watching John Wayne movies (so he could learn to talk tough) and doing all the little things it takes to be numero uno. I spoke with him right after the tournament, and he confided in me that it would've been a lot easier getting the win if he...let's see, how did he put it, "didn't have to carry nOct's lard *#% thru every freakin match". Fortunately he borrowed my cape (stole it, actually), which meant he had full access to COPEYPOWER!!! J » Bro, MUCH congrats to you on your first tourney win. It's a pretty special feeling to get the nod as number one, and I know with 100% certainty this won't be your last. Special thanks go out to VTR_FORDNUT for hosting, and "gg" to the other podium finishers. » And now for the agony of defeat. Words really fall short of what you're about to see. Oh and I'm obligated to state that the footage on this replay may not be suitable for all members of the household. If you're the queasy type, then maybe you should forego viewing the contents of this file.
» To see the replay, click on the link, download it, and extract it to your Saved Replays folder in the MTM-2 directory. When the replay starts, simply press "F4". Next, simultaneously press "Ctrl-3" for (chase far view) or "Ctrl-4" (for blimp view). If you're not in Bro's truck, you can get there by pressing "K" until you see the display indicating you're viewing his vehicle. Lastly...hehehe, get some tissue, cause you may well be in tears after checking this out...the good kind of tears, I mean. Holy Broski!!
• The Bruise Brothers (or Three Stooges...whichever) saw a bit of action over the past few days, and they did more than their fair share in upholding what has become pretty much "status quo" on SLO. I find it almost eerie that all three of their names start with "N" - NoX, nOct3rn4l & N8. Furthermore, there's something to be said for the fact they have this uncanny ability to climb and swing from trees, and their favorite "down time" activity is picking bugs off of each other and eating bananas (with the peel). Things that make you go, "hmmmmmm".
» But hey, so what - so they have what most of us might consider "weird hobbies". What matters most is they take care of business when it comes to throwin down (like that expression?) on the cube. In the interest of time, I'm going to list the results of tournaments these guys participated in within the past 3 days:

• This last portion here is an example of the kind of mentality I deal with everyday...and it's mostly with one guy. Here on SLO we call him Jr., and although he's undeniably the hottest racer on the team at the moment, he's a pain in my freakin neck!! Indulge me if you will while I give you just a glimpse of what I call...

Hehehe--cost me $50 bucks and Tonka Toy truck to get him to spit that last one out. Course, I also had him in a choke hold, which helped. Thanks Preach, and thanks to all of SLO for tuning in!!
