Jan 26/27, 2001 - I think it's safe to say that the probability of breaking new ground where history is concerned rest within this team, and in this humble man's opinion the groundbreaker is none other than, The SuperStar!  Although he's a consummate team player, I don't think there's been another MTMer who's been so dominant on both sides of the table (so to speak).  His rep as a "racer extraordinaire" is definitely known throughout the zone, however, it's now been reinforced with a titanium coat of superb skills as a rumbler.  Two "Off The Hissy" 1-on- 1, PBRA sponsored rumbling tourneys were held on the aforementioned dates, and our SLO_N8 garnered 3rd place honors in both!  Great job, N8!!!  SYR_Snake & XXX_Silverado captured 1st place with SYR_Snake (yep, this guy had "happy tires") and FRO_Eigle taking 2nd place finishes.  Congrats to you all you guys, as well!!

Jan 26, 2001 - TOC - Week One of Mother Nature's Revenge:  The track was "Castellar Mountain" in the rain, and despite the strong showing of racers and and racer-rumblers alike, SLO and OLD dominated the field with record numbers in attendance.  Ah, but we did more than just show up.  Here's a quick snapshot of the standings:  The SuperStar & NANOO are leading the charge on our quest to make a statement of dominance.  Following up close behind, also in commanding positions are Weeedeee, Scat-Attack, and ObeOne.  The Destroyer, nOct3rn4l, Triple-B, "mwa", Fila, and JDAK also put in strong performances to catapult TEAM SLO into the lead with respect to team points.  People, this is what I've longed for; to go into a tourney sporting the kind of numbers we did, and "getting busy" on a race track.  If you didn't make it this time around, definitely try to pencil yourself in for this next one...and bring your cold weather gear and a shovel, cuz we'll be doing it in the snow!!

Jan 24, 2001 - Although this next addition to our powerhouse field of rumblers/racers needs no introduction...I'm gonna do it anyway (hey, I get paid by the letter).  He's not real cute and cuddly (my opinion, anyway), and it seems that after every rumble we have to re-tie his shoes and make sure his helmet is on straight...but so what; he's one of us now, and we couldn't be more proud to have him as part of the team.  Ladies and gentlemen of the MSN Gaming Zone, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Mr. McFreeze himself (I just made that up--nifty, huh?)  -  Although this next addition to our powerhouse field of rumblers/racers needs no introduction...I'm gonna do it anyway (hey, I get paid by the letter).  He's not real cute and cuddly (my opinion, anyway), and it seems that after every rumble we have to re-tie his shoes and make sure his helmet is on straight...but so what; he's one of us now, and we couldn't be more proud to have him as part of the team.  Ladies and gentlemen of the MSN Gaming Zone, it gives me great pleasure to introduce   SLO_Arctic_!!!!  Welcome aboard, good buddy, and I must say...although we had a pretty potent bunch prior to bringing you into the mix, with you as an ally, we're quickly approaching "unstoppable" mode.  Once again, welcome Arc--SLO looks real good on you, bud!

Jan 14, 2001  - It's been quite some time since we've had strong representation at a race tourney, but that's mostly attributable to the fact there have been no race tourneys to show up at!  Well, all of that is changing, and it started today with a single elimination gig on "Breakneck Ridge".  I suppose one could conclude it was a fruitless outing since we didn't make it to the podium, but that was never our goal.  If it happened, great.  If not, we accomplished what we set out to do, which was have a strong showing, and I believe we had 8 SLO members enter this one.  Not nearly what we're capable of, mind you, but on such short notice it was fantastic, and I tip my wheel to all of you who showed up.  Weeedeee - thanks for the cheerleading, partner!  Special recognition goes to SLO_nOct3rn4l & SLO_Renegade for making it to the third round in their very first race tourney.  Very, very impressive, you two!!

Jan 6, 2001  - Ding-ding-ding!!  She's back, and boy is it nice to see!!  She once was, and still is "The Baby Girl" of Team SLO...it gives me great, great, great pleasure to welcome back *+*SHIMMER*+*!!!  Going to get "biased" here for just a few and go on record to say this lovely little lady is very, very special to me, and I'm ecstatic to see her return to the team.  From a SLO perspective, she's more talented than she even realizes, and I'm sure once she starts refining her skills, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about--girlfriend can flat out fly!  Again, welcome back *+*SHIMMER*+*; glad you found your way back home. J

Jan 3, 2001  - We've chosen to use the exception clause for the first time on a guy who's actually the "main squeeze" of our very own Flying Tiger, and that's cool--I know we've always given special consideration to spouses anyway.  But this guy comes to us not only chock full of personality (you might not like it, however, there's a lot of it to go around), but he has some serious skills on a rumble cube/pad.  Allow me to introduce "_Arctic_CM"!!   Not sure what the "CM" denotes...maybe "Coolwhip Mangler" or something like that.   Hmmm...well, I'm sure he'll tell us...heck, he never shuts up!  Hehe--Arc my man, welcome aboard!   Enjoy your three-week tour, and on January 24, 2001...we'll cast a vote to see if you get the nod as a SLO employee.  My guess is you'll fit right in, partner.  So, although you won't need it...best of luck to ya!

Jan 3, 2001  - You know, I'm not sure I can keep coming up with all the high-powered, adjective laden, commentary about our newest SLO members...but I'll damn sure keep trying!  Ladies and gentlemen, guys and girls, dudes and dudettes - allow me to introduce a lady who comes across as the sweetest, kindest thing you'd ever want to meet...and she is very much that.  But I'm telling you...turn her loose on a rumble pad or cube, and in 10 minutes or less, she'll disassemble a truck and grind it up into what amounts to nothing more than metal shavings (not sure if she eats it though...hmmm).  Hehe--fact is, SLO has the badest ladies ever to grace a pad or track, and Christy merely rounds out the list.  Welcome to the team, SLO_CHRISTY!!!!.  Hey, anything you want...hell, just take it; no one's going to tell you you're not welcome to it...at least not to your face. J

Jan 1, 2001  - Talk about starting this year off with a bang - we've added yet another layer to our already awesome arsenal of team members.  This one happens to be a "truck breaker upper" by trade, however she's already started on the road to becoming a land-based projectile.  At present she's more like a wrecking ball, but hey--who wasn't at one time or another!   Please join me in welcoming a very nice,  very talented, and very good friend of mine - TIGERFLY!!!!  Much, much congrats to you, lady - we're genuinely happy to have you!
