Lots going on of
late, so I figured I'd drop a few words to bring everyone up to
speed. For starters, the Altpods zip is now in
place and ready to go. The same holds true for the
page housing the itemized list of tracks that comprise the Altpod
zip. I'll work up an explanation sheet of how we use
our track lists, but for now simply ask any SLO...and they'll
probably say, "Go ask COPE". Hehe they do
that just to tick me off!
Also notice on the APL
page the link to MTMG.
For a mere $385.00 per month, we're allowed to host our APL,
Altpods, Head Banger's Club rumbles, and our Jump-Cope lists at
MTMG. I know you're thinking, "What a deal!",
and you're right lol. The MTMG server allows for super
fast downloads, so if you're running short on time and you need
that track like...3 minutes ago, that's where you want to do
your downloading from! While you're there, check out the
rest of the site. It just had a MAJOR overhaul, and it's
awesome!
It looks like our
adopted racing prodigy, SYR_Demigod, has taken his racing
experience to the next level...and he's done one heck of a
job! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you "Fine
Line" - Demi's track making debut!!
I'll save my review-like commentary for MTMG's
Forum, the place to hangout if you want to know the
latest with respect to what's happening in the MTM 2 track
making world. Definitely check this one out and by all
means tell him what you think in the forum - he'd love to hear
your thoughts!
We had our first
Battle of the sexes gig a few days ago, & it was a
blast!!! Although we couldn't pair off in a traditional
"guy versus girl" format due to several members
attending to last minute, real-life issues, we had a room of 6
people kicking, biting, screaming (LS6_ICDOAN, the big
sissy), pushing, shoving...you know, normal stuff. Even
3B, who maintains that rumbles are for girls got in on the
action. He sucks, but he's a heck of a track start out
there! In two weeks we'll do again, so watch your mail,
people!

Chapter Is Complete posted

On behalf of SLO,
I'd like to publicly acknowledge the tremendous generosity of Replica
Fan, and say "thanks a million!"
Here's a guy who stepped in as a special favor to me to make
personalized trucks for SLO members who didn't have one
due to the absence of our truck maker, SLO_SS. He
took it several steps further, however, by replacing and
repainting trucks for anyone who asked. He attended to
every detail of each person's request, ensuring he got it exactly
how they wanted it before moving on to the next. To be
honest, there's no way we can thank you enough, RF.
I suppose we could send you money, but that would serve only to
cheapen the gift you've given us, and "we" wouldn't
want that, now would we? With that in mind...we're not
sending you a penny! LOL thanks bud - you're the best
As for everyone else, The
SLO_RIDER zips are now up-to-date, so get em now! Oh hey,
before you go though, check out "The
Cope Mobile". Is that baby slick or what???
Two new tracks were
recently released. The first is by Malibu350, and
if you don't know it by now, he's the guy I refer to as
"The Conversion King". A long-time veteran of
the game, he's made some killer "traditional" MTM 2
tracks. Since January of this year he's been converting EVO
& EVO 4X4 tracks (as well as a few other variations) into
MTM 2 tracks, and if you've never experienced one, it's something to see. His
latest is "Buzzard
Country". I'll let the track speak for
itself! All I'll say is, "Whoa!"
Next is OLD_FlatWheels,
who hasn't been making tracks all that long, but I'm here to
tell ya, this guy is one to watch! His newest release is
called "Flat's
Formula Race", and if you're into speed with a
Formula 1 ambiance (with color, too!), by all means check this
track out! Outstanding job, Flat, and be sure to look for
another release by FlatWheels in the next few weeks!
All righty, before I
was interrupted by a incomplete version of SLO_Redneck's
"Fookie Hunter II", I mentioned something to the effect of
Replica Fan living off exhaust fumes, having truck parts
in his house instead of furniture, and seemingly never getting a
wink of sleep. Still, given those rather peculiar
idiosyncrasies, there's one word that sums him up, and I mean to
a "T". That word is...
"AWESOME!"
NOTE: The
SLO_RIDER 1 & 2 zips will become active again when the last
truck is finished. I'm guessing 'ole RF is sitting
comfortably on an engine block in his office with a mug of SAE
80W-90 EP gear oil beside him (with a straw & lug nut twist
lol) at this very moment, working on that last truck. Hmmm,
who's truck is it, I wonder?
Another
RIDER Isn't Born...Yet posted
byCOPE@ Nov 14, 2002
If you read an
earlier post about Replic Fan completing SLO_Redneck's
"Fookie Hunter II,
please disregard: it was a tad premature. Also, if you've
downloaded that truck or our SLO RIDER 1 & 2
zips...unfortunately there's a revision coming. Sorry for
inconvenience.
We're getting closer
to the end. Replica Fan is cranking out one
masterpiece after another. As of yesterday I've put *+*SHMMER'S*+*
& Gutterboy's
trucks on the page, and theyareawesome!
Do check 'em out, and if you have a few minutes to spare, take
one (or both) out for a spin! If you don't
absolutely, positively enjoy the handling characteristics of
these trucks...Replica
Fan
will send you a check for $1,000.00 - no questions asked!!
Now I ask you, is that confidence or
what?
The Altpods
& Jump-Cope links on our APL
page have been temporarily disabled. We're in the
process of making new track selections. Our estimated time
of completion is 10 Dec 02,
so please check back then!
New
Track by HotShoe!! posted
byCOPE@ Nov 11, 2002
HotShoe's back on
the scene (and so soon after collaborating with Fila on SLO
Worlds) with what is arguably his best work to
date. That peak your interest? Good, because I
honestly can't imagine anyone being dissatisfied with "Oregon
Outback", so like...basically what I'm saying is you
need this track! You have to have this track!! LOL by
all means, check it out, and be sure to breeze thru the
readme.txt; interesting info in there about his latest
creation. Once again, outstanding stuff, Shoe!
Changes
To Our APL Page posted
byCOPE@ Nov 10, 2002
Unbeknownst to some,
SLO uses three additional lists of tracks (racetracks and rumbles) -
Altpods/Head Banger's Club/Jump-Cope. When we want to run
a different list of tracks, we merely swap out the .ini file,
and presto - all the tracks in the new list are podded. If
you're interested, go to our SLO
APL page & download one, two or all three
zips, then come play them with us! Much thanks go out to Malibu350
& Phineus for "supercharging" these rather
large downloads!
The SLO RIDER zips
were updated at 5:42.24 (lol I'm a time fanatic). If you
want the very latest, get em now, but be aware there will be
more updates in the near future, so some may prefer to
wait. The newest truck additions are HotShoe's
Power Stroke, Jumper's
White Wheels, and 3B's
Bionic Redneck, Jr. I don't know where 3B dug up
the name for his truck...and I won't ask either lol!
I'll tell you what's
new...but I don't have time to do it right now; I have a roller-skating
appointment with several little people lol. I'm basically
using this post to let everyone know there's lots going on, and
I'll most certainly share that info within the next day or
so. Course, this also serves as kind of a reminder for me
to actually do it! Seems like I'm busier than the
President (U.S., that is - can't speak for Presidents of other
countries lol) lately, but I'll definitely get around to making
a few updates here...and soon!
If you've been
looking for something new...something exciting perhaps, then
look no further. SLO_Fila & SLO_HotShoe
joined forces to crank out what is sure to be a no. 1 best
seller - SLO
Worlds!! It's free actually, but " no.
1 best seller" sounds a lot better, more dramatic lol.
Definitely check this one out, and if you're moved to words,
then the "Track Talk" forum at MTMG's Bulletin
Board is the best place to say exactly what you
think!
