There's A New SLO On The Scene! posted by COPE Nov 22, 03

People come and go on teams; it's inevitable, as we all know.  Here on SLO we've been fortunate in that our turnover ratio has been minimal given the time we've been in existence (nearly four years now), which is something we're all pretty proud of.  Still, there's always excitement in the air when we bring in new members, a spark that seems to re-ignite the camaraderie and fun we share as friends and teammates...except for this time, that is.  For the first time in my MTM 2 career (lol kinda what it seems like) I'm dreading the announcement I'm about to make.  Fighting back tears (mostly tears of rage, not sadness or despair lol) and hoping against hope that somehow I'll wake up and it'll all have been a horrid nightmare.

At any rate, it brings me great pain, displeasure, and humiliation beyond the endurance of man to announce SLO's newest member (hold all boos 'til the end of this announcement, please):

  ••••• SLO_ALL2much_ •••••

I think it's safe to say he's the most dimwitted, rude, obnoxious, hot-headed, arrogant, non-singin', gun-slingin' loser we've ever brought onto the team...and people seem to like him lol.

In all seriousness, we're glad to have MTM 2's reigning champion of tourney hosting aboard.  Like his sidekick, Demi, he was a pure rumbler (and not very good, either - see profile page) turned racer.  Also, like his sidekick, Demi, he's got more mouth than game lol.

Nevertheless, we have a little welcome package for the guy.  Let's see what he got:  1 pencil, 1 piece of paper, 3 minutes to compose a note to a friend (if he has one), 1 rope (complete with noose), duct tape, 2 bags of cement, 1 quiet joyride in the back of a trunk, and his very own lake!  Now I ask you, is that a heck of a package or what?  Course, he'll only get to use it once, but still...

LOL welcome to the team, partner; two (inactive) members of our 34-person roster are dang glad to have you aboard!

NOTE: Booing may now commence!

A New Look At MTM2.COM  posted by COPE Nov 21, 2003

Normally Phineus confers with me on just about everything since he's virtually incapable of making any type of reasonable decision on his own lol.  This time around, however, he decided to branch out and make some changes at MTM2.com, and I must admit the new look is much improved. Same great service, and as always there's  complimentary food and drinks provided by the host every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so by all means, check it out!

OLD_mumhra's Latest Release  posted by COPE Nov 20, 2003

Hey all, if you're looking for a challenge, our bud mum recently released a new track by the name of Crazy Rallycross.  It's a fun track that's sure to redefine hairpin turns.  One thing's for sure, and that is with about 4 or 5 racers on this baby frequent lead changes will be commonplace, which adds to the fun in my opinion!  Definitely check it out, and by all means take your time with those turns lol.  Good stuff, mum!!

Before I go I have a couple more tidbits of info to drop on ya.  First up is yes mum, I most certainly will complete the review on citadel namur lol.  Actually I'm just getting back in the swing of things, so look for the review on that one to come out fairly soon.

And since I'm on the subject of tracks, there have been quite a few new releases at MTMG in the past several months.  I highly recommend downloading a few from time to time and check em out.  I'm mostly referring to tracks by unknown authors.  You'd be surprised - some times you happen upon a track that's really quite good.  If it's something you feel is "list worthy", make a note of it in our forum and we'll pick it up on the next overhaul.

Finally, I'm back in track reviewing mode, so expect a "no thanks" from time to time if you extend an invitation to me for a race.  Just wanted to give people forewarning, that's all.   That's it for now - I'll see you guys/girls on the tracks...if I'm not doing a review, that is lol.

M&M Brothers Release New Tracks posted by COPE Nov 16, 03

Their names and reputations precede them, thus I'll forego all the flowery hype, the laundry list of great tracks they've rmade, and discussion of the countries they've visited giving free seminars on track making (but charging fans for autographs lol).

Rachel's Park & 204Tailings are brand new releases by Malibu350 and mike204 respectively.  I'm not sure what the story is with the lowercase "m" in mike's name.  My best guess is he was absent (or skipped) that day in English class when capitalization and proper nouns were discussed lol.  At any rate, definitely check out these tracks, and whether you like 'em or not, let the guys know what ya think; they love feedback.  Plus, they get $5,000.00 for every reply to their track thread at the end of the year over at MTMG.  What a scam...I mean, deal that is, huh?  I haven't run em yet, so maybe I'll meet some of you online and we'll take a lap or 10!

New Tracks on the Horizon posted by COPE Nov 11, 2003

There's a guy by the name of Cr@$hC@rt who's definitely one to watch.  He recently released the first (Catfish International Speedway) of a 6-track collection which will be known as the World Grand Prix series.  By the time it's all said and done I imagine there will be something in this package for everyone.  Installment no. 2 is currently undergoing beta testing, and to my knowledge there's no projected date that it'll be complete.  Stay tuned...

Track View by Oliver Pieper posted by COPE Nov 10, 2003

For all you track makers that really want to showoff your work, there's a new program on the horizon, and it's called Trackview.  I believe I mentioned this program some time ago, however, it's still undergoing beta testing.  I love it, and I imagine once it's released it should prove to be pretty dang popular.  Oh, and if the name Oliver Pieper rings a bell, he's probably best known for his Dark Star tracks (MTM 1 & 2 versions).

Here's a sample of what kind of shots his program can take:  HotShoe's Pool Hall, Malibu's Castle Rock, too, and here's one I took this morning - Enocell's Quadrophenia.  Man, this thing is awesome!  If it was up to me this baby would be out on the street today.  Fortunately it's not up to me, which means the program will work as it should lol.  I'll let everyone know when it's a done deal.

Back In the Saddle posted by COPE Nov 9, 2003

Well allrighty - been kinda dead on this page, and since I was out of town for over a week...nuff said.  I have a few quick updates to make over the next few days, so check back here from time to time.  As a reminder, all tourney results are now posted in our forum.  This page will only highlight MTM 2 news in general, page updates, new members...and I'll also speak at length about the party we're gonna throw once we boot N8 & Demi (hoodlums - both of em) off the team lol.

If you think you may have missed any newsworthy info, be sure to check out our archives.  Lots of good stuff there!  For now, however, it's late, so I'm gonna call it a night.  See ya soon!
